How are symptoms assessed?

The location and duration of pain, its relationship to bladder filling and emptying, urinary frequency and its effect on daily life are discussed. Assessing other conditions that can produce similar symptoms is important.

Treatment and follow-up

Different approaches may be considered depending on the assessment. Changes in symptoms are reviewed during follow-up to develop a plan suited to the individual.
